J. R. was ordered to include the following statement in all their advertisements: "No additives in our tobacco does NOT mean a safer cigarette."

Various additives are used in cigarettes production both to improve their taste and to influence other features like the burn rate. Winston brand remains one of the few cigarette brands who still deny using any chemicals and offer only "100% tobacco" to their smokers.
